Former industrial miner for a Helix-subsidiary who was fired for "safety violations" (which were actually reports of mutant labor abuse). Sledge is a burly human man with heavily scarred arms and a soot-stained face. He always has welding goggles pushed up on his forehead. Boisterous and optimistic, he finds a strange joy in the "art of the boom." He joined Jarek after his mine was shut down to cover up an illegal Helix dumping site. He provides the heavy ordnance and breaching capabilities needed to crack open Helix transports.
Is partially deaf in his left ear from a "mishap," but refuses to admit it.
