Former Helix infirmary nurse who defected after witnessing the "disposal" of failed mutant iterations. Mako is a human woman in her 30s with short-cropped salt-and-pepper hair. She wears a faded medical vest over civilian fatigues and a multi-tool belt. Tired, compassionate, but no-nonsense, she has a dry wit used to deflect the horror of her work. She has seen too many "children" of Helix recycled or discarded and stole a crate of specialized stabilizers to flee to the underground, where she now patches up Rescuers with limited supplies.
